Coast to Coast cycle team raise over £6,000!

Liam first became aware of the project from talking with Helen and Rafik after their return from Nepal in 2015 . ‘The brilliance of this project is that all the money is going to the school, we know all our fundraising will make a real difference to the lives of children.’ The cyclists were ably supported by John Finlay also from Manchester City Council driving the support van.
Liam said, ’We had a great time, lots of laughs, some hard climbs and are already planning our next trip. A text from the headteacher at the school arrived expressing warm thanks and telling us we’d put a smile on the children’s faces. We are delighted to have been able to help.’
The Coast to Coast team have raised £5,500 to date and donations are still coming in. The children currently have their lessons in tents as the school buildings are no longer safe and in danger of collapse. So far the project has paid for stationary for the children and 600m of pipes for a drinking water supply. Compost toilets will be put in place after the monsoon and then excavation for the build can begin.
We are enormously grateful for Liam's support and for the energy and effort of all those on the ride and for our generous supporters. Their enthusiasm and achievement is a great example of what can be achieved when committed people work together for the good of those in need.
